Madison's journey as a florist has been a lifelong one for sure. She's been obsessed with flowers ever since she was little; from making arrangements of wildflowers for childhood campsites, to taking floral design classes in high school and college, then working in flower shops to make it through college, to moving to Colorado to become a flower farmer, and now, finally, owning her own flower shop!

When it comes to flowers, I promise to never just clone something that I saw on Pinterest. Instead, I vow to always create unique arrangements that represent your personality and the significance behind your floral needs. Because your desires deserve to be heard and taken care of with intention. When you work with Growing Wild, you can be confident that your custom order will be just that – custom. THAT is a promise.

Cheers,

Madison

A note from the founder:

Since flowers are personal, get to know me:

Things I love...

Flowers. (Duh.) No but seriously, it's an obsession. And if you made me pick just one...well I won't! So here's my top 5: Anemones, Dahlias, Tulips, Billy Balls and Feverfew.

I loooooove music. I listen to a wide range of genres (literally most everything except country...fight me). I also play guitar and sing! And just so ya know, my favorite band is Paramore.

D&D. For all you non-nerds, that's Dungeons and Dragons. I play every monday with my buds, it's my creative and social reset; not to mention a good way to start the week!

Pickles! I'm a salty gal livin in a sweet tooth world. Catch me ordering extra pickles with everything, or just drinking the juice straight out of the jar. Sorry not sorry.

The paranormal. Yes, I'm a spooky bitch, get into it. I've had gifts from a young age (literally my first memory is a paranormal experience), and have spent quite some time diving into them. Maybe if you ask nicely, I'll read your Tarot ;)

With my own retail flower shop, and a growing team of flower enthusiasts, Growing Wild is able to service our community with fresh florals, and help create flower magic for our wedding couples. We can't wait to see what's next for Growing Wild, and we're so happy you're part of our journey!

Growing Wild nowadays

now

A little farm stand with a U-Pick flower patch, I took on weddings slowly and started to become waaay more busy than I'd thought, so I started scaling up to meet the demand. After 2 years of farming on my own, I decided to open a retail spot and move away from farming.

And thus, Growing Wild is born!

Just before the pandemic hit, the owners of the farm I loved so much had told me they were moving away and disbanding the farm. With a sad but hopeful heart, I made the decision to start my own thing.

2020, need I say more

2020

I moved to Colorado to pursue farming (and everything else Buena Vista has to offer). I loved my farming community and felt happy growing underneath the owners, bolstering their floral program and gaining clients for them.

Colorado, here I come!

2017

I was kicked out of my living arrangement and had moved back in with my parents. A college drop out, working in a shop I was miserable in, with a broken heart, I felt pretty defeated. This is when I finally decided to just chase my dream of becoming a florist and flower farmer.

Moving up (or out)

After having no clue what to study in college, I took a year of community college before moving out of my parent's house to find myself. Needing to pay rent, I got a job at a flower shop. Quickly realizing that floristry was IT, I dropped out of college to pursue my passion.

I was so fortunate to have Floral Design as a class at my high school. I spent 2 years in Floral Design, and loved every minute of it.
